Souled In
The foundation for the Heavy Metal band, Souled Out was laid when Rajeev ( Lead & Rhythm-Guitarist ) and Rajat (ex-Bassy) met at the Bangalore-based Rock Show, Sunday Jam in August 2005. The pure love of Old-School Heavy Metal and the eagerness to perform and showcase their talents helped them keep up the zeal to form a complete band.
Through a common friend did they hear of Lead & Rhythm-Guitarist, Ashutosh. Note: On the day they were supposed to meet him, they walked into the college canteen to find a guy playin' air guitar, like most wannabes do, and nevertheless, they had a great laugh over it. Little did they know that He was the guy they were spos' to meet.Lol. But the moment he played on a real guitar, they knew he was no laugh-off guy but an extremely fast and talented guitarist.
As the task to find a "good" drummer was a li'l too tedious, they being a li'l too scarce, they decided to post an ad on their college Notice boards. The idea was a failure. So they decided to post every-possible-where and yes, even the loo. The idea turned out to be perfect as Muscat-returned Kiren ( Drummer ) joined the band after reading it you-know-where.
The Band played @ the Freedom Jam with Ashutosh doubling as a vocalist.
Eventually they did decide to find a Vocalist. They found an ad posted by Sai ( Vox ) on a website frequented by Bangalore-based rockers. A few calls and a Jam later, Souled Out was complete.
After a coupla' Jams, the band added multi-talented Keyboardist, Dheeru to further heighten their music. Line-up changes had their best Bassy yet, Vicky taking over the Bass Guitar duties.
Souled Out is a band that has stayed away from the "trend of the times" metal genres.Initially, they did a few covers to get known in the local scene. But as any band that is original feels, they yearned to play their own compositions that reflect the varied influences of the band. They are influenced by what they believe are the "REAL" Metal bands of the Heavy, Black, Thrash, Symphonic and Melodic Metal genres.
Pantera, Judas Priest, Dimmu Borgir, Dark Tranquility, Death, Iced Earth, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Black Sabbath, Cradle of Filth, Children of Bodom, Samael, Stratovarius, (early) Metallica are some of the bands.
A point worth mentioning is that Souled Out is one of the promising bands in Bangalore. The statement is justified by the good reviews that the band has been getting from the fans and also the Media. \m/.
