Rocking time for party-goers
A night for ladies

It was a sultry evening for the ‘special’ guests - the ladies - invited to Tuscan Verve that Friday night. Ananth Narayanan, its owner aptly put it as the 'Ladies Nite'. “It is a concept that began as a club for the fashionistas of Bangalore and every Friday night will be ‘Ladies nite’, which means that women can enjoy good music, booze and also the fashion shows that we intend to arrange every Friday evening. We have planned it in such a way that our ‘special’ guests will be pampered and spoilt by their boyfriends,” said owner Ananth Narayan.

It was party time for the ladies. Let down hair and swaying hips, with a dash of DJ Jeff's music, set the heat for the evening. Music was in full blast and drinks were offered to the guests.

The special part of the evening was yet to come as Prasad Bidapa was preparing to launch a special summer collection of men's wear and also showcasing designer Suneet Verma's collection too. The most exciting moment came when the ramp was left open for the six hot models. The male models walked the ramp bare-chested for four different themes ranging from summer wear (only reds) to casual wear.

The final round got more interesting with the strikingly stunning Radhika Rao, who was crowned this year's Miss India (Congeniality) making an appearance. This Bangalore lass was invited to walk the ramp and dance to a romantic number with one of the six hot hunks. In the last round of the fashion show, models walked to romantic Bollywood tunes trying to seduce women with roses and inviting them to dance.

While booze flowed in the house, DJ Jeff set the dance floor afire with his signature music ranging from pop and reggae to hip-hop music.

Jam and unwind

It was an amalgamation of music and food on a sultry Saturday evening at the Unwind Centre in Wilson Garden - a niche space for music lovers.

Last weekend saw two Bangalore bands - Bhoomi and Souled-out - the former being a veteran band (four-years-old) and the latter, barely six months old, jamming at the centre. It was indeed interesting to see how the two bands churned out originals and had audiences grooving and asking for more. The genres of music played, ranged from light rock to heavy metal. The jamming session lasted for nearly two hours.

The first performance was by ‘Souled-out’ and they had the audience crooning to a warm-up track of Ozzy Osborne - Mama, I’m coming home, sung by its lead singer Sai. They brought out their very own singles like ‘Blinded by Faith’, ‘Dying on the Altar’, ‘Threshold of Pain’, and ‘Soul-cry’. The next to perform was Bhoomi. Their USP is that all its band members are singers and being more into heavy metal, they performed some of their popular numbers like Megadeth’s She wants..., Vertigo, Cry, For the love of God, Rainmaker ( their first single released in 2003), Wake a man and Rains to hell. Named the ‘mecca of rock’, Unwinding Centre opened in the City three years back. Tucked away in a small street in Wilson Garden, the Unwinding cafe is equipped with the latest sound technology and state-of-art music system for upcoming bands here.
